Vexel

Vexel art is a raster-based art created to appear in vector-style. They are created through a layering of objects, often taking several thousand layers to achieve a final result. (in the case of my In The Zone vexels, as well as Dreaming in Revelry). I’ve been vexelling since approximately 2004, and have been involved in various vexel communities. In fact, I’ve been vexelling so long that I was around when the term was coined!

In 2006, I decided to use my knowledge of vexel art and create four extensive pieces for my final HSC grade. Each piece of the series contains over a thousand layers, and several hundred hours worth of work.

In 2009, I was given the honour to create a tutorial on vexel art for Advanced Photoshop UK magazine, for which I created Dreaming in Revelry. It was certainly an experience! :)

She thinks that she can fly ...

Welcome to SC.org, the personal portfolio of Sarah Teer. Most of the art featured here is of a digital nature, and in particular, a fanart nature, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. You can find more of my work here
